A guy who waits at my bus stop most mornings (white guy in his 20s, normal to nice looking, Gortex coat) has a purple blinky light that he uses to make sure the bus doesn't pass us up in the dark. He plays with it as he approaches the bus stop. He swoops it around in the air or swordfights with it. He stops when he gets close to the bus stop. One time he put it in the bus stop while my back appeared to be briefly turned, to see how it looked through the fogged up glass of the bus shelter. I will procure, soon, a cape with a big purple "BB" on it and hand it to him silently. BB stands for "BEHOLD (a Busrider!)"
My secret heroic bus activity is to sit next to sleeping riders. I sort of pretend to myself that I am protecting them. Nobody will drop a spider into THEIR mouths while I am on duty.
On the way home a young woman next to me promised on her cell phone to write a paper for somebody, but they would have to finish it up themselves because, she said, the comma key on her computer did not work, so it would have no commas at all in it. At the end she said "Ok, Mom, bye; I love you, too," which I did not expect (and contains a lot of commas.)
please take umbrellas and snack trash with you as you leave
