goodnight john boy

The coffee drive-through has a lane+window on each side, & as I waited in my vehicle I could see the back side of the coffee guy and listen to him talking to the customer across from me in her vehicle. "Hello Myrna, dear!" "Hello, Toby!" "Your regular today, on this fine sunny morning ?" then he turned around and saw me: "Hello, Moe!" so I said "Hello, Toby!", glad that the other lady had reminded me what his name was. Then I decided to tease his customer by saying "Hello, Myrna!" in the same hearty voice, since we could see and hear each other perfectly well through the opposing windows. She did not respond.

"Do you 2 know each other?!" Toby asked, sounding delighted (but that is his everyday tone of voice) so I said "We do now! We are at the very beginning of our acquaintance!" heartily. Toby said "I am glad you both came in today, on M day, the only day you can both be here simultaneously," but by now she was sort of glaring at me so I tried to reassure her. "Glad to meet you! I work for a police agency but they don't let me carry a gun. In case you were worrying that I am a stalker." My new friend must not have heard me because just drove off without telling me where she worked or if she is allowed to carry any weapons. Toby went ahead and had a long conversation with me about tasers, and numchucks.

"We are at the very beginning of our acquaintance!"

I love that.

I am going to go straight over to your friend's blog and volunteer to be in her survey, just because you are the only person who talks to me in these comments anymore, Srah.
